The result is a hybrid model that competes with both cPanel-based managed hosting and cloud providers like DigitalOcean and Vultr, depending on how the buyer configures their account.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, ScalaHosting started as a reseller hosting company before expanding into cloud VPS and developing its own control panel technology. The company runs its own servers and network, published its first version of SPanel in 2017 entirely based on client feedback, and grew to host over 50,000 clients. In 2021 it handled more than 120 million visits during the Philippines Presidential Elections LMS deployment, a useful signal for buyers evaluating infrastructure reliability under real load.
